General Manager 

As General Manager your remit will be to manage our private & public feasts and the team who run them from start to finish, ensuring that each person who visits our woodland has an unforgettable and unique experience. You will manage the rest of the team to ensure they are each carrying out the individual roles they have been assigned and use your initiative to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will assist our chefs on the day of each event and help co-ordinate staff and guest arrivals.

You will need to visit the woodland before each event to ensure the following:

cleaners have completed their jobs to your satisfaction

sufficient fuel for the generator

sufficient coal & wood for fires

all inventory and sundries checked to see if any orders need to be placed.

 all infrastructure ie: toilets, tipi, sheds, outdoor kitchens are clean and in working order

meet with infrastructure companies as and when required

You will work alongside Rochelle ensuring there are sufficient staff for each event. Guest’s dietary requirements will be sent over before each event. It will be your task to ensure the chef and hosts are aware of these. You will uphold strict hygiene standards and ensure that food safety is adhered to at all times and keep a log of our food handbook.

From time to time there will be additional catering opportunities outside our woodland. You will be required to manage these. This is a freelance role requiring a minimum commitment of 4 days a  week . You will be required to work 2 days during the week and most weekends.

Core Responsibilities

To manage the set up of our hidden woodland alongside other members of the team placing key emphasis on design

Manage guest arrivals providing welcome drinks/canapes

Ensure guests are served during the meal ensuring you have a full understanding of each dish and all of the dietary requirements

Support and assist chefs as and when required

Use your initiative to reach out to guests & act as an ambassador of Nomadic. and be a credit to the company at all times

Responsible for managing deliveries & replenishing stock on site when we are running low

Recruiting, training & advancing FOH staff/managing staff rota

Desired Qualities and Skills

A self-starter

Previous restaurant, catering, event or festival background is essential

An eye for creativity and imaginative ideas

High level of attention to detail

Interest in bushcraft/cooking over fire

First Aid Trained, Level 2+ HACCP, UK Driving Licence essential
